Five Tips to Have the Best Glamping Experience

7/24/2023

Glamping is the camping experience of a lifetime. It allows you to get back to nature and enjoy the serenity of natural beauty, all without having to “rough it.” Here are five tips to have the best glamping experience.

Do Your Research.

Before booking a glamping site, take the time to do some research to make sure it is exactly what you are looking for. Look for reviews, photos, and other important information to help you decide if the site is right for you. Determine how much you want to camp vs. glamp. It’s also a good idea to check out the surrounding environment to make sure that it is what you are hoping for.

Bring the Right Gear.

Whether you are glamping at the beach, by the lake, or in the desert, it is essential to bring the proper camping gear. Depending on what amenities the site offers, this may include a tent, sleeping bags, bedding, towels, sundries, cooking utensils, and a flashlight or lantern.

When it comes to clothing, it will depend on the time of year, season, and location of your glamp site. No matter where you choose and what clothing you bring, bringing a small amount of laundry detergent and clothespins are essential to your glamping experience. This is especially important if you are opting for longer stays and there are no washing machines available.

Keep it Cool.

Consider bringing a cooler for your drinks and food. This will allow you to store cold beverages, ice, and food and can help keep everything from melting on hot summer days. You could even try making gourmet s'mores using different chocolate types and toppings.

Don't forget to bring extra food for your glamping trip, as well. Instead of the standard chips, hot dogs and canned beans, try to incorporate some gourmet meals into your trip, using herbs and fresh vegetables. At Camposanto ATX, a glamp site just 40 minutes west of Austin, TX in the hill country, we have a kitchen garden that our guests can pick from anytime of the year. We believe this gives our glampers a more authentic experience and will help them to have an enjoyable vacation.

Plan Ahead.

Whether you are staying at a site with modern comfort amenities or a more rustic site, taking some time to plan your trip will help you have the best experience possible. Before heading out on your glamping adventure, create a list of everything you need to bring ahead of time. It will help you stay organized and avoid forgetting anything important. It’s also a good idea for glampers to have a backup plan just in case something goes wrong on their trip.

Unplug.

When you are glamping, you will be in a unique setting and have the opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and family. It is a great opportunity to disconnect from technology, connect with nature, and recharge your batteries.

Make the most of your glamping experience by creating memories that will last a lifetime. Be sure to bring some games, a puzzle, and a deck of cards to play with friends and family. Some glamp sites even have some outdoor games like corn hole, bocce, and pickle ball!

Glamping has been around for millennia, but it is becoming more popular than ever. It's a beautiful combination of glamorous and camping and is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors while still having access to the comforts of home. Whether you are enjoying the perks of a luxury tent, yurt, or tepee at a campground or staying in an exotic place like a treehouse, underwater pod, or reconfigured planes, glamping is a great way to experience a new side of nature.
